As an alternative you should also be able to run one of the short autotrailers. The platform might even take one of the 70' autotrailers. The GWR had some very short 38'6" coaches ...

Why not a Vacuum cleaning van?

The LT&S example still exists at Mangapps Farm. A spare triang small crane chassis would be very suitable.
