Lochside, a small On18/O9 "tuning fork" style layout with a single off stage tail track.

Offered for sale, includes the fishing boat, buildings and figures as per the photographs but no trains or road vehicles.

The layout measures 2ft square and is designed to be viewed from the seaward end of the pier.

The point control is mechanical with the operating lever located inside the estate office building and accessed via the off stage area.

Asking price is 75.

Buyer collects from Sandbach, Cheshire (M6/J17).

The layout has been exhibited twice, once in Crewe and once in Rainhill.

Contact details.

For a split second I nearly had a heart attack and thought Ian Futers had joined the forum when I read the subject. Smile

Cheers

I suspect that both Ian's versions of Lochside (P4 & 7mm) were thrown away years ago... he tends to do that with most of his layouts apparently.

It doesn't need much room, only 2ft by 2ft, the reason I'm selling is that I have too many On18 layouts. As the saying goes, three's a crowd.

He sells at least some of his layouts. Otterburn was sold as a private layout and Newcastle Haymarket was extended and exhibited after he sold it.

Yes he has done so more recently - an O Scale one he built was bought & extended by it's new owner and is still going strong on the Exhibition Circuit as far as I know.
Years ago he actually wrote in an article about his then-'new' layout that he had stripped the previous one before throwing it in the Council Tip.
I bet even Ian has lost count of how many layouts he's built over the years.... Laughing

Down-sizing again Bob, sounds like you need a bigger house(or garage) Laughing

Yes, must admit I thought my comment was equally applicable even as I posted it... Laughing
