Lots to like here, particularly the way the railway half lurks behind the pub and the house next door - a part of local life but also apart. What's the loco? and the track plan?

Looking forward to more pictures, too!

Loco photos and track plan, Peckett and Manning Wardle L class
Layout including fiddle yard is 55" long by 18" wide. Self supporting with fold up legs.

First outing for this layout will be Warley NEC in November.
Spinners End will be at Redditch and Cradley.
Oh, here is a view of the Terraced houses, all the buildings are scratch built, locos and stock kit built

The self contained stowage, support and display panel arrangements of Mike's layouts are as fascinating as the actual scenic bits. You could almost imagine the layout unfolding as it emerges through the floor accompanied by a well known tune. Very Happy

don't me get started on the music. I used to have the single with it on, the Avengers theme on the other side, but foolishly sold it to a friends for his disco Sad
Love this layout, would like to do something similar in gauge 1 (1/32 not 10mm foot), but would have to make sure main box fitted in my car. For full effect at exhibition you would have to keep folding it it then unfolding it, otherwise it's lost on the public. You could have a clock saying when 'next show' is on , and only open it for each 'show'.

Will try anything once, looking for the ultimate easy to set up portable exhibition layout, preferably French narrow gauge and with lots going on, not necessary on the rails.

I thought this was one of the best layouts at Warley this year! It also reinforced my theory that the interest and operational activity generated by a model railway layout is inversely related to its size and the number of operators.

However good the photos are, it still doesn't do the layout justice!

Well done!
