I have a couple of locos with the Hornby tin can motor, as fitted to both Mehano and Model Power, but position and size of motor means chassis won't fit loco I am building, so got hold of some Hornby Type 7 motors, very cheap, but as suspected armature diameter is smaller, so wonder if anyone has managed to modify either the motor or the worm to fit. The Type 7 motor does not have worm fitted, but am sure it would not mesh with the drive wheel on loco.
If I can solve this then I will design a fitting to hold motor using 3D printing.

Will try anything once, looking for the ultimate easy to set up portable exhibition layout, preferably French narrow gauge and with lots going on, not necessary on the rails.
