The Bill/Ben conversion to #3 on the FCPyF was never 100% convincing, I'd left the cab far too low, the boiler backhead was not properly represented as it should be on a tender loco and the large saddletank looked wrong with a tender as well.
Also, while I'm in self criticising mode, the push pull set wasn't that convincing either, so it's been split up. The composite coach will be used on mixed trains and the cab car has has one axle removed... What????
The axle at the blind end, and the driving coach is now articulated onto the back of #3. The loco's cab has been made higher to match the coach roof.
Still work in progress, I need to determine the pivot point then add some lead under the loco's front buffer beam, to balance the weight over the driving wheels, and it all needs weathering to the usual FCPyF standards of dust and rust. Then the crew can be glued back onto the footplate instead of standing in lumps of Blutack. _________________ Bob Hughes

That's different, although I always had a soft spot for #3 in its tender/tank form. Articulated coach on a single axle at the other end - a bit of a strain, perhaps, in reality? Perhaps a spare bogie under the coach section? A good short train for a small layout, at all events. |

It goes round corners OK, and the FCPyF has never stuck to convention!

I really must straighten up that fir tree at Frog Rock, it has featured in a few videos now and each time I upload another I tell myself to get it sorted out. _________________ Bob Hughes
