Colin's fault? It doesn't appear to be a miniature railway to me. _________________ Bob Hughes

aha! This'll be the boxfile you mentioned at mansfield Very nice..
It does seem that since Colin built (and displayed via the tinterweb) his boxfile, there has been an explosion.
I might try to start a shoebox revivalist movement! (Although I need to make sure we keep clear of the ironing board activists).. _________________ Martin Hogg

I think possibly Colin's boxfile layout was one of, if not the, first that became a completely 'believable' and realistic scene, as opposed to just a bit of a novelty item...? _________________ What is this thing called "Spare Time"...?? |

I approve of your sky blue backdrop! By design or just an accident? _________________ Feather River Bill |

Why thankyou kind sir! I do have to add the disclaimer that I was inspired by the work of Neil Rushby and Phil Parker in my efforts.
As all I have room for at the moment is a box file layout, I think there will be another in the near future, but this time in O9, I just haven't decided whether to follow a miniature railway theme or something along the lines of a second generation estate railway.

Catte Lane had its first appearance at a show today, Thirsk.
The two boxfiles are linked by short length of track which is where the power comes in. The second (new) box has a 'fiddlestick" out of the other end.
A Hornby 08, DJH kit 02 and a Hornby Sentinel were the motive power, plus one of those small Bachmann track machines. The wagons were an assortment, mostly 3 linked.
It all ran well well and was interesting enough to operate all day. Eventually, I intend to try a tiddlywink computer type of operation but today was just random shuffling.
Apologies for lack of pics but the laptop is playing up and I can't load them.
