|I know some of MTI's readers are also on Gnatterbox, but for those that aren't...
I've bought a "spares/repairs" station wagon on Fleabay, it's a bit shorter than I was expecting so the Athearn chassis that I was planning to use doesn't fit.
An Underground Ernie chassis is a closer match and, after a bit of work, the railcar is now available for off peak passenger traffic on my Gn15 modules, the line still needs some proper coaches for busier periods though.
Both the car body and the chassis took a bit of cutting but the end result is a good fit and the additional weight of the die cast body improves the running quality of the chassis. The slight hesitation as it passes Holmes Farm Junction is down to dirty track, not the mechanism.
Once there were mountains on mountains and once there were sunbirds to soar with and once I could never be down.
