The last ever MTI approaches
Last chances...
For Steve to ask if it's due soon.
To guess what colour the cover is ('cos some of us never kept track or worked it out properly!!)
To report it's safe arrival around the Country.... _________________ What is this thing called "Spare Time"...?? |

As a mark of mourning the colour should be black. _________________ Bob Hughes

Oddly, I suggested that when Chris first told me that #118 would be the last issue! |

Yes, that would be appropriate! About three weeks time, I reckon. |

Currently at the printers - they got caught short with a sudden requirement to print up huge numbers of election leaflets!!! |

No it's not!! Landed in the West Mids today
Mentioned in Dispatches, too, as well as an article Mindyou, my article in MTI#1 was an Inglenook in N scale; this last one 20 years later is an Inglenook, in O scale. I wonder if I've really made all that much progress in the intervening years...?!?! _________________ What is this thing called "Spare Time"...?? |

It's here, already! Having only spoken to Chris a couple of days ago, when it was just about due to hit his doormat, I didn't expect to get mine until after the holiday week-end.
A great last issue. Nice to see part of John Flann's Hintock empire in colour on the cover, and very interesting - in the light of Isla Blanca - to read Ron Bryant's 1979 account of a visit to Cuba's railways. The retrospective look at GWR railcars is also a great reference piece.
Once again, thanks Chris for all the inspiration you've provided over the years; you will be sorely missed. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement (at least from magazine production). I shall look forward to your forthcoming books. |

I heartily agree with the last 2 posts.
MTI ends in fine style, good luck for the future Chris and thank you for your all your writings in magazines down the years, they have served us well indeed. _________________ Paul |

Will try anything once, looking for the ultimate easy to set up portable exhibition layout, preferably French narrow gauge and with lots going on, not necessary on the rails.

I didn't want the day to come when I received the last edition of MTI - and it hasn't 'cos not yet arrived here in sunny (?) Ascot!
