Found an interesting website while browsing for something completely different. If you use diecast toy cars (Matchbox, etc) as scenic items - and like to source them in junk boxes - you may like to investigate Marty's Matchbox Makeovers for ideas about restoration work to damaged models. The project I saw was a Bedford tipper-truck that looked as if it had been run over by a full-sized car - crushed out of shape with broken cab window supports.

The video shows the restoration work step-by-step and included the idea of mixing Super-glue with baking powder to produce a fast-setting gap filler that is easy to carve or file once it has set, which was a new one on me.

There is a whole series of similar projects, so there may be other tips elsewhere on the website.
