|Many of the brick buildings seen on layouts , in particular plastic ones, have a stretcher bond style of brickwork. This is the easiest to create, especially for laser cut models.
Now I had assumed this bond was relatively new, more likely associated with cavity walls, but when I was driving into Blackburn today, I noticed a row of terraced houses with a build date on them, 1904, and they were definitely plain stretcher bond.
I can't get google map link to work here, but it is a row of houses on Accrington Road, Intack, Blackburn, on Accrington side of road junction.
Odd thing is I can get link to work from another forum, here post number 23
Will try anything once, looking for the ultimate easy to set up portable exhibition layout, preferably French narrow gauge and with lots going on, not necessary on the rails.
