|

On a seasonal note.
I found this site www.gumhold.com two or three years ago now. There are several useful models to download which include an advent calendar http://www.gumhold.com/papier/Advent/advent.html.
I have intended to make these models to use with a floor layout over Christmass in the past, but never got started.
That is until last night. Here is the first, thrown together just before midnight yesterday.

Perhaps I should have said that the actual idea is to complete a model village. There is an A4 sheet to print out and make every day. Some of the bigger model come on two sheets (to make over two days).
I have managed to complete these so far, but not had time to post or do anything else.
3 December Bauernhaus (farmhouse)
4 December Pizzeria
5 December Laden (shop)
6 December Kappelle
7 December Reihenhaus (Terrace / town house)
There is the option to make several of these into a row of houses., I may do this later.
8 December Schuene and Stall (Barn and sties)

Slightly late,
but here is the finished station building. I will get the camera out rather than my phone and post a better picture tomorrow. A lot more fiddly and more to it than the previous models.

A few more completed models, hopefully will be able to setup with trains this weekend, but I am busy with work and other things and these are taking longer to make than I thought. The chap on the monument is a Martin Gumhold the designer of this series of models.
11 December Backhaus (outbuilding) and statue on plinth. There is a water fountain / trough, which I have not yet made as well.
12 December FeuerWehr Part 1 (Fire Station)

Here is one of the trains Marklin tinplate. I am slightly behind with the buildings due to work and printer running out of ink. It may well be Xmas eve before I catch up.

Following this with interest. Reminds me of the Christmas village I had as a kid. No train, though - Hornby tinplate would never have fitted; the houses were made of plaster and were roughly N gauge. We made mountains from scrunched up and partially straightened out dark brown parcel paper, and lots of cotton-wool snow and glitter powder. Happy days |

17 December Rathaus (Town Hall) Part 1
18 December Rathaus (Town Hall) Front
18 December Rathaus (Town Hall) Rear
I thought I posted these before I went to bed, but screwed up somehow.
Still have 3 market stalls to make, but these will have to wait until this evening at the earliest

The final 3 stalls for the christmass market. Completed last night and then the camera battery died.
Kase von dem Allgau (Cheese from the Allgau)
Adlerauge (Target shooting - direct translation is Eagle eye)
Spielkind (direct translation is Childs play) Not quite sure if this represents a toy stall or raffle stand) _________________ Clive |
