I see that Hattons are working with Heljan to sell a RTR Class 14 diesel-hydraulic 0-6-0. It'll be just right for MTI type layouts as a lot of them were sold into industrial use.

Info here --> http://www.ehattons.com/list/EventDetails.aspx?eventid=39

Yes, I've just caught the news via MRF & RMweb... amazing!!!
This is right up my street- I'd love to model the Forest of Dean railways of the 1960s in O scale, but now Dapol have announced a Class 22, Heljan/Hattons this Class 14, and Pannier Tanks already available from Bachmann, it looks like the cheapest & easiest option is going to be a return to 4mm scale... 2009 may be an expensive year...

The total run quantity is said to be 2400 units... I seriously doubt that's going to be enough...

Just catching up on old threads... ha ha, I was right AND wrong at the same time with that comment Rolling Eyes Embarassed ... Right that 2009 could be an expensive year; the price put forward by Hattons for the Class 14 is 115 Shocked Rolling Eyes Wrong that the easiest option for me is a return to 4mm Scale... not only would I have to buy the locos, but all the wagons, track etc etc, which extra costs could be better used adding to my O scale collection...
Much as I'd like to, I won't be buying a 4mm scale Class 14...
